The members of
Capital Toastmasters I welcome you!

Are you trying to overcome your fear of speaking, learn how to make presentations, lead a meeting, and get ahead in your career? Then Capital Toastmasters I is the club for you!

Capital Toastmasters I, founded in 1950, is a community club: we are not sponsored by any employer and are open to all members of the greater Washington community. Normally, we meet at the American Bar Association, 1050 Connecticut Avenue, NW, 5th Floor in Washington, DC., but are currently meeting remotely via ZOOM.

Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 12-1pm. If you are interested in attending a meeting, please see Visit Our Club to learn about scheduling a visit, or contact our Vice President/Membership, Ron Barrett, by clicking on his name. Guests are always welcome!

If you would like to see some examples of how our members use their Toastmasters training and experience IRL (in real life), hit Capital Toastmasters in Action and have a look!

Capital Toastmasters is pleased to hold the designation of President's Distinguished Club from Toastmasters International -- the highest possible -- in recognition of our active educational and organizational program.

Please click on the links to the left to get more information, download forms, check the current calendar of meetings, or visit the websites of Toastmasters District 36 (the District of Columbia and suburban Maryland) or Toastmasters International, our parent organization.

You don't have to know how to speak in public to join Toastmasters. In our program, you learn how!
